Apparently Wendy's fast food chain is back in Malaysia. This time brought in by Berjaya group. Today was the day where one of the outlet was opened at Jaya One. Near UTAR... So I decided to go there for lunch. The at placed was pretty packed since it's the opening of the outlet. So everything looks new. Furniture, kitchen etc. Many people where there as well, heard that during lunch time it was packed to the max.
I heard and ate at Wendy's before which was at the States during my last visit there 3 years ago. (Time does zooms by super fast) Comparing from then to know plus western and asian. Difference is certainly there. In terms of the menu and so on. Variety of burgers here almost the same as the American one except those which are non-halal ones. Which is bacon etc. Probably they may introduce new items as time pass by. Malaysian taste buds are certainly different so I suppose their spicy chicken burger would be much spicier and those other burgers where the recipe may be altered.
So I got myself a combo meal. Which was the double patties one. The pricing is slightly more expensive than Mcdonalds. But cheaper than Carls Jr. I add on a baked potato that was rather not that satisfying due to the content. The cheese gravy was good. No doubt about that, but the potato is like potato powder in a potato skin. Hmm..... It just looks and tastes weird to me. Since it doesn't seem like any solid potato where I can dig in and taste the awesome-ness of the potato.
Overall I would say Wendy's do have a potential in having more stores nationwide. That depends whether Malaysians are adventurous enough to try out this new fast food store. Much can be improved I'd say. Oh yea, I was greeted by the mascot. The girl in the logo. Just look odd for that person to have an orange wig, orange lipstick, dress in some colonial time dress. Due to politeness I did had a short chat with her since she greeted me. That time I was trying out the food myself, the mascot thought I was "lonely". Haha. Funny one indeed.
